At Earthspan we leverage the lessons of natural systems when tailoring each stormwater design

STORMWATER

Natural hydrologic systems find balance easing into a state of equilibrium. Rainfall is captured by the tree canopy or converted to runoff, runoff is slowed by meadow grasses and absorbed by the soils; or when in excess, shapes the land into a network of streams of steadily increasing magnitude. Runoff and rivers are the distribution systems of the hydrologic cycle, meandering continuously in response to changing climatic conditions. The hydrologic process is fluid...much like the design perspective at Earthspan.

At Earthspan we leverage the lessons learned by observation of natural systems when tailoring each stormwater management approach. Mimicking the distributed retention and release of runoff in natural hydrologic systems is the key to the resilient design of stormwater controls. Successful stormwater management is more than a basin or a Best Management Practice, but rather an design approach that acknowledges the surrounding natural and built systems and works within their constraints.
